If in another city, google in your city web site and look for links. Do the same if you are looking to be hired in another city in the education field.
As stated previously in other posts, spend more time on a list of places to call and inquire about positions. Many of the job search sites and engines glean information from each other. The same positions show up on every job site! However the Internet is NOT where all the jobs are! Sending your resume randomly to 100 places hoping someone will find you is not the answer and a large waste of your time and money. Step out of the virtual world into the REAL world. Look back at your lists of past ways you got employment. Take the time to think like an employer. An employer is a busy person! How might you be able to talk to them to find out what they need?
There are more than enough sites on the internet offering interviewing tips! If you get an interview and get turned down, be aware there is a quota of people that many of these hiring managers have to interview even if they already know who they might hire. This is so disappointing and discouraging to you as a job seeker! You might do everything right from the perfect resume to perfect interview and still get turned down. Why would you want to work for a company that deceives the folks they hire like that anyways? Just move on and keep looking.
My focus on this blog is not interviewing skills. My focus is to help you locate a job you can do as fast as you can. You must do the numbers daily (contact 10 to 15 potential employers) and just keep this up for 30 days, you can stop after that if it is not working don't forget! Plant the seeds DAILY & water as well, the crop (job) will come!
